Well, yesterday was "Daly Days" here in Hamilton. So, to celebrate we went to participate in the, "Chalk Fest". All ages get to pick a sidewalk sqare and draw anything they want with the chalk provided. Well, me in square number four, decided to draw a rainbow ballerina. It turned out good, I was pretty proud. Two squares over, Bohni drew a radio flyer wagon that was almost 3-D because it was shaded so good. Three squares over, Hagan drew an awesome pencil, with a matching earaser and sharpener(he labled the pencil, made in china:). In sqare number 23, my mother was making a masterpiece. She had the mountains drawn even more beautiful then they actually are:). Though, in the proces, while shading and blending the colors, mamma wore two bloody spots on her fingers(luckaly none of the blood got on her art work) and are still really sore.
We came back later to look at all the drawings and to hear the awards cerimony. I won first place in the 8-12 catagorie with a scetch pad and a cool pack of oil pastels. Bohni won a scetch pad with a pack of nice drawing pencil kit. We all thought for sure that mom would either win the adult catagorie or best of show, but some lady who drew a giant flower next to me won the adult prize, and a primary sea scene won the best of show( who the heck was judging?!) but at least we had fun doing it.
Surprisingly, about three hours later, it rained enough to make the streets look like little creeks! We rushed down to look at the drawings, wich were smeard and washed away to smitheriens! It was really pretty though:)
All in all, it was a fun experience, and we're looking forward to it next year!
